A guiding star for the years between 3 and 5
The preschool years go fast, and they matter. We're building a SEIT program that helps children thrive in the classrooms they already love.
Who we are
Guiding Star LLC is a preschool special education agency based at 18 Spencer Street in Brooklyn. We're preparing to provide Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) services to children ages 3 to 5 in New York City, delivered by NYS-certified special education teachers.
Our family of agencies
Guiding Star is a sister company of Star EIP (Early Intervention, birth to 3) and Climbing Star (ABA therapy) . We share an office and years of experience serving young children and their families in New York City.
The CPSE process is separate from Early Intervention, and families choose their own evaluation site. Being related companies doesn't change that, and it doesn't affect which agency a CPSE assigns to a child.
Where our application stands
Guiding Star has applied to the New York State Education Department (NYSED) for approval to provide Special Education Itinerant Services (SEIS). Approval is pending, and we are not yet providing services.
Until approval is granted, we can't be assigned by a CPSE or provide SEIT services. In the meantime, we're recruiting teachers, getting to know preschool programs, and sharing clear information for families. We'll update this page when anything changes.
